Early in his career Garrett Hall found one of the most enjoyable aspects of business was being able to create something through innovation. Whether that be a brand new revenue stream or bringing profitability to a business area through change. With this entrepreneurial type of activity undertaken while working as an employee or business owner, he found the challenge and complexity to be highly satisfying. Garrett found that if you adapt quickly and intelligently, most obstacles can be overcome and even greater success can be achieved.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT & EDUCATION – This can be highlighted no better than his taking a retail, catalogue and online consumer direct marketing business from $70,000 to $7.5 million in sales. With 100 employees at its peak season, Garrett enjoyed building and motivating the team, the challenge of bringing the group forward towards the success of a common goal. Garrett eventually sold the business in 2009, when offered an attractive price from a large company.
In building businesses, Garrett very early in his education, found himself gravitating towards an important discipline for business success. In his undergraduate, obtaining a BA (Honours) from University of Alberta with a focus on social research and statistics with its appreciation of the Scientific Method. He appreciated the act of measuring things that were often difficult to quantify. Once these aspects to be changed were measured, one could move & track these efforts towards success. During his MBA Graduate studies, in Marketing and Business Strategy, he once again found his appreciation of controlled change gravitated his studies towards Direct Marketing.
CAN’T MANAGE WHAT YOU CAN’T MEASURE – With Direct Marketing, it was a mix of the creative with the controlled. The challenge was to tie a desired outcome to the activity and then measure the outcome. When Garrett started in Direct Marketing, the ability to measure campaign or promotion results that can now be measured via online marketing was an unimaginable dream. He has embraced online marketing technology and its ability to drive forward targeted and thus successful advertising.
Garrett’s career as a student of the scientific method, his background in direct marketing, experience working with all aspects of a business and expertise he has gained with online business development and office technology has given him a formidable set of skills for the success of a business.


CAREER EXPERIENCE – His career started in the direct marketing industry with Young & Rubicam/Wunderman Worldwide and Scholastic.
The next stage of his business career transitioned into direct marketing and overall business management. With the advent of the Internet, also moving into online management & marketing. While involved with many companies & industries, his primary efforts were with The Added Touch and with the sale of this business, he started the smaller eCommerce test store called Oakville Store.
With the sale of the The Added Touch, Garrett launched the Aurora Consortium group. Assisting direct selling/online companies with their operational and marketing expansion into Canada. He also launched the specific operating divisions of AuroraCon being eosFirst AuroraCon digital marketing and online solutions company.
Garrett Hall’s business career consisting of big picture management experience, off and online marketing expertise and creative problem solving skills have established him as a strong overall business leader and online expert.
NATURE AND LEARNING – With a great love of nature, one of Garrett’s current passions, is building a cottage in Muskoka, Ontario.
Garrett also has a strong appetite for reading, learning and teaching. Much of this learning is related to the digital space. Garrett currently he is a Digital Marketing Professor at Sheridan College. He also conducts various seminars on business online development and offline technology for businesses.
