First of All, This Blog is Biased Towards SugarCRM/SuiteCRM Vs Salesforce

I have setup and used Salesforce and SugarCRM/SuiteCRM for clients. In my view, both are comparable in functions. I would dare to say that most of the the established cloud based CRMs are comparable. However, my primary reason for liking SugarCRM/SuiteCRM vs Salesforce and the other CRMs; is that SugarCRM spawned a FREE open sourced CRM called SuiteCRM. And as you will see below, the yearly pricing of CRMs can get very expensive.

Open-sourced software is software that the initial developer allows “anyone” to jump in and make changes to it. This can be a very powerful model of developing software.

SugarCRM stopped its open-sourced software in 2014 and then SuiteCRM grew out of this last open-sourced core file. With that said, even today, SuiteCRM  is pretty much the same program. SuiteCRM even has more functions than SugarCRM.

As Per Wikipedia:
“SuiteCRM won the BOSSIE Award 2015; and BOSSIE Award 2016; for the world’s best Open Source CRM. Infoworld, the curators of the BOSSIE awards stated that “In little more than a year, SuiteCRM has inspired the community and emerged as a new leader in open source CRM.” The award had been won by SugarCRM for the previous 8 years.”

SugarCRM Costs

For a smaller company with a couple of logins, the cost is about $2500 Canadian per year. You pretty much need at least 2.

For larger companies, for 50 users the cost is about $30,000 to $50,000 Canadian per year. As per above this cost is FREE with SuiteCRM!

Salesforce Costs

Salesforce for smaller companies is about the same as SugarCRM. The Cost for two basic users is about $2500 per year.

For larger companies however, it is much more. For 50 users about $55,000 to $110,000 per year.

How Do The Functions of SugarCRM/SuiteCRM Compare to Salesforce?
